This week in Irish Muay Thai
A strong weekend for Irish Muay Thai saw statement performances on the world stage, major debuts on the horizon in Thailand, and Irish fighters continuing to make their presence felt at the highest level of the sport.
McGreevy Delivers on the RWS Stage
Niall McGreevy 🇮🇪 and Erdem Dincer 🇹🇷 faced off in a highly anticipated contest under the Rajadamnern World Series banner at the iconic Rajadamnern Stadium.
The bout was relentlessly physical from start to finish, with heavy shots landed on both sides and neither fighter willing to give ground. Both men showed grit and durability, but it was McGreevy’s composure and intelligent shot selection that stood out against a proven and very durable opponent.
Facing a former Rajadamnern Stadium champion, McGreevy fought with maturity well beyond the occasion — staying calm in the exchanges, choosing his moments, and controlling the tempo when it mattered most. Against elite opposition on one of Muay Thai’s biggest stages, he demonstrated exactly why he belongs at the top level of the sport.
Performances like this don’t just earn wins — they confirm status. McGreevy continues to prove that he belongs firmly on the world Muay Thai stage.
Smylie Set for RWS Debut at 154lb
Garrett Smylie returns to action this Saturday the 14th, stepping onto the Rajadamnern World Series stage at Rajadamnern Stadium in Bangkok.
Smylie will compete at 154lb (super welterweight) against Iranian opponent Hassan Vahdanirad, marking his RWS debut. He comes into the bout full of momentum after his recent victory for the World Muaythai Organization middleweight title fight in Bangkok.
Currently ranked #5 in the WMO world rankings at 154lb, Smylie is ready to re-enter competition and begin pushing his way up the Thailand Muay Thai scene. A strong performance on the RWS platform would represent a major statement as he continues to test himself against elite international opposition.
Keogh Returns to ONE Friday Night Fights After Explosive Debut
Tom Keogh is set to make his second appearance in just two months on ONE Championship Friday Night Fights in Bangkok, continuing a strong run that has firmly put Irish Muay Thai back under the global spotlight.
Keogh enters this bout full of confidence following a superb first-round knockout of Iranian opponent Mahan Fotouhi. That victory came at ONE Friday Fights 135 on November 28, 2025, where Keogh ended the contest by KO in Round 1 (2:12) — a statement finish that immediately caught the attention of fans and matchmakers alike.
Now scheduled to fight again on February 27, Keogh has a chance to build real momentum on one of the sport’s biggest weekly stages. Composed, aggressive, and clinical in his debut, he showed the kind of presence that translates well to the high-pressure environment of ONE Championship.
With another strong performance, Keogh can further establish himself as yet another world-class Irish competitor, reinforcing Ireland’s growing reputation for producing elite Muay Thai talent on the international stage.
