Friday Night Fights Returns to The Sallynoggin Inn on September 25
Warriors Gym Dublin is set to bring another edition of Friday Night Fights to The Sallynoggin Inn on Friday, September 25, with a full evening of amateur Muay Thai and K-1 action.
Founded by Warriors Gym coach and professional fighter Cian Cowley, Friday Night Fights was launched in 2024 to give developing fighters the opportunity to compete in a professional-style setting. Ring walkouts, lighting and a lively crowd give amateur fighters experience of a full fight-night environment while still competing at grassroots level.
Since its introduction, the show has become a regular part of the Irish combat sports calendar, providing another platform for fighters looking to gain experience and progress through the amateur ranks.
A Busy September Card
A number of contests have already been confirmed for September 25, with fighters from across the Irish scene set to make the trip to Sallynoggin.
The current lineup includes Kilkenny vs McKenna, Nolan vs Doyle, Lepionka vs Hearne and Taafe vs Glover.
Also announced are Walsh vs Mulligan, Grassick vs Flavin, Butler vs Breen, Skerrrett vs Lynch, Johnson vs Brady, Hallinan vs Bruek and Moloney vs Feehan, giving the show a sizeable card with further matchmaking still underway.
Grassroots Muay Thai
One of the main purposes behind Friday Night Fights has been to create a stepping stone between interclubs and larger amateur shows.
The setting gives newer fighters an opportunity to experience the routines and pressure that come with a proper fight night, while more experienced amateurs can use the show to stay active and continue developing.
That regular access to competitive bouts is particularly important at grassroots level. Not every fighter is ready for a major title fight or national promotion, and shows such as Friday Night Fights provide a place to build rounds, experience and confidence before moving further up the amateur circuit.
With another sizeable lineup taking shape, the September edition will once again put a spotlight on fighters working their way through Ireland's developing Muay Thai and K-1 scene.
