Erik Hehir secures his spot to fight at One Friday fights

Erik Hehir secured a decisive victory over Tomas Danev of Southend Combat Academy on April 18th at Hitman Fight League, earning another opportunity to compete on ONE Friday Fights.

What had the potential to be a high-paced contest delivered across all three rounds. Both fighters engaged throughout, exchanging consistently in a bout that maintained intensity from the opening bell. Contested under four-ounce Muay Thai rules, it was a competitive and physically demanding fight that required sustained output from both men.

Hehir’s recent form has been building steadily. Victories over names such as Ciaran Flannelly, Gustavo Beck, and Lee Walton had already positioned him well, and this latest win over Danev — who entered with a record of 11–7 — further strengthens that trajectory.

This will not be Hehir’s first appearance under the ONE banner. He previously faced Shadow Singha Mawynn on ONE Friday Fights, delivering a composed and technically sound performance despite falling short on the night. Shadow has since continued to compete at elite level, including a world title bout against Nico Carrillo — adding further context to the level Hehir has already operated at.

The result reinforces a broader trend.

Irish fighters are no longer just gaining experience in Thailand — they are competing, winning, and consistently earning opportunities on international platforms. Hehir’s return to ONE Friday Fights reflects both his individual progression and the strength of the system behind him.

As more fighters emerge through the same pathway — developing domestically before testing themselves abroad — Irish Muay Thai continues to establish itself as a serious presence within the global scene.
